Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What size beach cruiser do I need?
Most adult beach cruisers are one-size-fits-most, designed for riders 5'0" to 6'4". Our standard frames fit the majority of adult riders comfortably. If you're on the taller side or prefer a more upright riding position, our Wide Series and Super Stretch models offer additional frame options. Contact us at info@hbbcinc.com if you need help choosing the right fit.
Do your bikes ship assembled?
Our bikes ship partially assembled. Final assembly is straightforward and typically takes 30 minutes. You'll need to attach the front wheel, handlebars, pedals, and seat. Basic tools are all that's required. Assembly instructions can be seen here.
How long does shipping take?
Most orders ship within 1–3 business days. Delivery typically takes 5–10 business days depending on your location. You'll receive a tracking number via email once your order ships.
Standard beach cruiser bikes ship for a flat rate of $79 to any address within the contiguous United States. We subsidize a significant portion of the actual shipping cost — your $79 covers only part of what we pay carriers to get your bike to you safely. For deliveries to remote locations or where carriers assess oversize surcharges, additional fees may apply. We will contact you for approval before any additional charges are collected.
What is your return policy?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery for unused, unassembled bikes in original packaging. Any bike that has been assembled or ridden is not eligible for return. Accessories may be returned within 14 days if unused and in original condition.
The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the item arrived damaged or defective. Original shipping charges are non-refundable — refunds are issued for the product cost only. To initiate a return, contact us at info@hbbcinc.com.
What if my bike arrives damaged?
If your bike arrives damaged, please photograph the damage and packaging immediately and email us at info@hbbcinc.com within 48 hours of delivery. Do not assemble the bike. We'll work with the carrier to resolve the claim and get you taken care of.
Can I test ride a bike before buying?
Absolutely! Visit our flagship store at 328 Main Street, Huntington Beach, CA 92648. Our team is on hand to help you find the perfect cruiser and get you out for a test ride.
What's the difference between SKULLXBONES, OLD SKOOL, and HBBC?
SKULLXBONES is our premium lifestyle brand — bold, aggressive styling with custom ergonomic frames and Shimano drivetrains. OLD SKOOL features retro metallic paint and a classic stretched frame for riders who love vintage style. HBBC is our core lineup — premium components in trending colors at an accessible price point.
Do you sell electric bikes?
Yes! We carry the HBBC DTR 20" Fat Tire Scrambler and the HBBC Electric Beach Cruiser series. Both are available with pedal-assist and throttle modes. Shop our electric lineup online or visit us in store.
What's the difference between Pedal Assist range and Throttle-Only range?
Great question — and one worth understanding before you buy any e-bike.
Throttle-Only range is how far you can go using only the electric motor, with no pedaling. This is the most honest, apples-to-apples way to compare batteries across brands. It's the number we use as our baseline because it doesn't change based on how hard you pedal.
Pedal Assist (PAS) range is how far you can go when you're pedaling and using the motor together. Because your legs are sharing the work, the battery lasts significantly longer — often 40–80% more miles depending on the assist level you choose and how hard you pedal.
Most e-bike brands advertise only the PAS range because it's the bigger number. We show you both so you know exactly what you're getting.
HBBC range at a glance:
| Model | Pedal Assist Range | Throttle-Only Range | Battery |
|---|---|---|---|
| DTR Base | Up to 50 miles | 25–35 miles | 48V / 15Ah |
| DTR Premium | Up to 65 miles | 35–45 miles | 48V / 20Ah |
| E-Cruiser | Up to 50 miles | 28–35 miles | 48V / 13Ah |
All figures measured under typical riding conditions. Actual range varies based on rider weight, terrain, wind, speed, and assist level selected. Throttle-only figures based on Eco Mode at 20 mph.
